As a program supervisor my team provided the leadership and support to residential staff to empower our participants in achieving their vision and rehabilitation. I felt in this role that I had obligations not only to the clients but also members of the system. I was able to impalement some of these services. Some individuals were receptive and some others weren’t. It’s hard to have a plan in place when certain individuals don’t care to do anything with their lives.
I had to learn and how to be successful in the case management field. I did not think that I was in the field at first. I thought I was going to be doing office work, setting up meetings, and doing interviews for my workers. Little did I know that when they called out if I could not find a replacement I would have to fill in for them? At that moment that’s when I realized I was a caseworker and had to make an impact on the participants
