During the 1880’s, St. Petersburg was a pine scrub village wanting to become a city. Northerner’s relocating to this town transformed it with their new ideas and cultural aspects. In the 1890’s, the location that was soon to become City Park was undesired because of its high grass, mud, puddles, and roaming wild animals. Wanting to make the park part of the community, in 1893 a group of women formed the Park Improvement Association. One of their projects was the William’s Park Bandstand which sits at the front of Heritage Park.…

Just as the church’s interior is spacious, so is the outside spacious, as there is a small plaza outside the church’s front façade with cafes nearby. There is also a tiny park to the building’s left. However, while the surrounding buildings are of similar masonry to the church, they are not in a gothic style. There is also a building to the right of the church that is coated in glass windows, a modern architecture feature that starkly contrasts the church’s traditional…

Similar to structures in the past, other structural considerations with this cathedral would be the statues mounted to walls, the Stations of the Cross, relics, crosses, carved figures, and wall imagery which is unique to its display at St Raphael. Other locations of interest that are present at this church is the Sacristry and the Reconciliation Chapel which is placed prominently within the spacious layout and design of the church. Once again, unique and varies from location to location based on overall design of the structure.…

Cities are carefully crafted. Most city planners and engineers would agree that, "Design is about creating spaces for people to enjoy and of course, creating moments where you elevate the spirit, but 'design for good ' is figuring out a program that not only creates better spaces, but creates jobs, new industry and raises the conversation about the way we build" (Cameron Sinclair). Although there are plenty of public places around Santa Clarita worth mentioning, the one that stands out the most to me is Main Street Newhall. Descried by the city's website as "an eclectic shopping, dining and entertainment destination that mixes rustic charm with cosmopolitan appeal. With boutique shopping, fine and casual dining, and Old West heritage, Old Town Newhall is the place to shop, gather with friends and family, and enjoy a day or night out on the town."…

In essence, it is important to remember global origins to achieve community action. This was one of the earliest realizations of the Japanese Americans, for they began in 1986 to try and preserve part of Little Tokyo through community action. It was the Little Tokyo Community Development Advisory Committee that campaigned and established Little Tokyo’s historical district on East First Street. Some of the oldest Japanese American businesses in the country are on First Street, and so the rich culture plays a big role in establishing a sense of community in Little Tokyo. The pricier studios are usually found in the larger areas associated with the music industry, like New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, or Atlanta. Smaller areas, such as Montgomery, Birmingham, and Mobile tend to stay under $100 per hour, but usually cost more than $50 per hour, depending on the quality of the studio. Around Montgomery, the least expensive professional studio that advertises regularly offers digital recording services for as little as $50 per hour. The Cage will offer studio time at a very reasonable $25 per hour, with blocks of time available for negotiable package prices. Our goal here is to focus on the musician or customer without them having to worry about watching the clock or paying more than they can afford.…
