In 30 C.E. Jesus was sentenced to death because he was seen as a threat to the Romans as potential starter of a rebellion. After his death, his followers believed that he was resurrected on the third day of his death, which was thought to be a sign that Jesus of Nazareth was the son of God, and it helped spread the religion throughout the world.
