A character’s main trait is what you remember the most about them. Romeo, Tybalt, and Mercutio all have traits that make them memorable. Tybalt is aggressive, Mercutio is persuasive and deceptive, and Romeo is emotional. All three characters play a major part in the plot, and their traits are essential.
First up is Tybalt, and his main trait is aggressiveness. Throughout the story, every time Tybalt was involved, there was trouble. In act 3 scene 1, Tybalt approaches Romeo and the rest of the Montagues, wanting to fight Romeo for sneaking into the Capulet party. Because Romeo snuck into a party, Tybalt wants to kill him. It makes no sense at all, but that’s the kind of character Tybalt is. His aggressive and fiery temper is what ends up being

Mercutio is a very practical and persuasive character, in act 1 scene 4, He tells Romeo a story of a ridiculous dream he had and makes Romeo realize that dreams don’t have anything to do with reality. Mercutio is Romeo’s right hand man and best friend. He is always mentoring him and protecting him. Unfortunately, His attempt to persuade Tybalt to resolve conflict, ends up being his demise. Without Mercutio, Romeo and Juliet never would have met.
Lastly is Romeo. Romeo’s main trait is being emotional which is also his weakness. In scene 2 act 2, Romeo asks Juliet to marry him the next day, the night they met. The same night Romeo asks a girl to be his wife, he was complaining about another girl literally hours before then. Romeo lets his emotions get the best of him and it is what kills him in the end. He gets overly attached to Juliet and feels like he can’t live without her. Romeo’s Emotional character is a key part of the plot.
Without these three character traits, the story of Romeo and Juliet would not be the same. They need to be there for the plot to move smoothly. Even if one of the characters wasn’t there, pieces would be missing. Good characters are the key to a good story and Romeo and Juliet excels in that

On their way to the party Mercutio urges Romeo to go to the party when he begins to have doubts and misgivings in regards to attending. Because it is written into literature, juxtapositions characterizes people by indirectly telling them. Without it, authors would tell the readers, without deviation, how the characters act and speak. These characters, though good friends, differ in everything from demeanor to views on love. Thus, they become foils for each other in the play. Romeo is as young and idealistic as anyone his age. He is immature and hasty to say the least, but he possesses a passion and fresh outlook that makes him an interesting character to follow throughout the play. Romeo channels his passion in both positive and negative ways in the play, such as when he and Rosaline separated at the beginning of the play, “O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything of nothing first created...…

Romeo and Juliet is a masterpiece by far and has yet to dissatisfy anyone who has experienced either a play or movie variation of the play. This is undeniably because of this story’s plot and the elements of Romeo and Juliet. They way Shakespeare wrote it hooks a viewer and pulls that viewer along for a ride into what will undoubtedly be a somber love story. So the viewer stays for the long ride and holds onto that little bit of hope that in the end everything works out but to their discontent things don't. This is because of a plot so well spun by shakespeare that it is unforgettably the most tragic romance ever created.…
