Personal Narrative: The Journey Of Packers Training Camp

The Journey of Packers Training Camp
As I pull in the parking lot of Ray Nitschke Field, I am thinking of where I am going to set my stuff up and stay there. I am also thinking of the main guys that I want to get. It isn't a easy process, especially sitting in 85-90 degree weather for two and a half hours, outside not doing anything besides waiting for the buzzer to blow, allowing the packers to come out off the practice field.
It is a great day to watch a Packer practice, and I get my stuff ready for autographs. We get in the car to drive to Green Bay, Wisconsin. After driving for 45 minutes, I rush out of the car and get set in a spot to sit for a couple hours. I hear people around me saying ¨Here comes someone on a bike,¨ or someone asking

Around that time, I will get a chair from our car and sit and depending on what time the practice is, I will grab a quick snack to eat and a drink. Then I sit in my chair and study the new roster and learn what each guy's number is. It is a struggle because player come and go, so you are learning new faces, names, and numbers. Some other people stay by the fence I usually start up conversations with them, it is nice because you can talk to someone that understands what you understand and you have the same interests. Also, they have some security workers there every time and they are fun to talk to. They have some cool experiences since they work for the Packers, and you never know, sometimes you learn some cool things and learn new …show more content…
I start getting excited. But length of the practice depends on how well the players are going, so they add time on the clock which takes forever. Sometimes it is ten minutes, sometimes it could be thirty minutes. Finally, it was the last buzzer. Players take their helmets and jerseys off and walk over to the bikes. It is harder when the players don't have their jerseys on so you have to know what they look like to identify who it is. I am pretty good with the faces of the players unless they just joined the team or they were a late round draft pick that years draft. Just like when they come through to the bikes, I scream to the players to get their attention. Normally more ¨good¨ players stop after cause a lot of the fans leave. Then the final players make their way through and the security shuts the gate. Then everyone starts heading to their car or up to Lambeau Field.
At last, Packers training camp is something that I look forward to every year. It is a fun event to attend. Sometimes the autographs pay off the drive there and the long wait in the hot weather. I am glad the Packers do these kind of things to get the fans involved and let kids have a chance to get autographs from the players. Most teams don't do as many things that the Packers do. For example the Packers Family Night. Packers are the only ones with that

What happens in the bleachers is that all the old football players talk about their greatest memories. This helps because it breaks the ice for other football players from different times to get to know one another. And maybe to get a few things off his chest such as “fifty thousand bucks in cash” which was offered to Neely to go to Tech this needed to be said a long time ago. This contributes to Neely’s recovery because he is surrounded by old Spartan football players and some of his close friends in high school. Also Neely can catch up to where everyone is and what everyone is doing.…

Every Sunday afternoon, NFL fans pack stadiums all across the United States to watch their favorite teams play. In NFL stadiums everywhere, fans will buy/bring items to games that include jerseys, beer, sodas, hot dogs, popcorn, and homemade signs to enjoy the experience and cheer on their teams. The coaches draw up plays on their playbooks, while calling plays on their headsets trying to confuse the other team. The head coach motivates the team by giving a pep talk before the most important drive that could determine who wins and loses. The players perform on the football field by wearing uniforms, helmets, pads, and cleats, while playing either on offense, defense, or special teams.…

From this moment, the tradition of The Lambeau Leap starts (Chris Chase). This tradition allows Packer fans to interact with the player who fight each and every Sunday for the city of Green Bay. But looking at the rules and regulations of the National Football League, technically, the Packer tradition should not be tolerated. Other teams in the National Football League can do something minor like clapping, and receive…

Alright. I'm just going to address the elephant in the room. The Packers lost Aaron Rodgers today -- possibly, for the remainder of the season -- and it just so happens a 29 year-old unsigned free-agent, who threw 16 TD's to 4 INT's last year is still looking for a team to play on. Also, he grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Loved watching the Packers as a child and idolized Brett Favre. Packer fans and Ted Thompson: let's sign Colin Kaepernick to the…
