I am writing to you regarding the recently advertised position as a Trainee Actuary in the Retirement department. I decided to apply when I saw the position because my previous work experience, Mathematics degree and extracurricular activities have allowed me to acquire valuable transferable skills required for this role. I have gained valuable transferable skills such as analytical, problem solving and communication skills. All of which make me a strong candidate for this role.

I have learnt how to work under pressure and work independently, without constant support from my mangers and work co-operatively with my fellow analysts to solve common problems.
Developing original, industry leading, analytical techniques for tackling complex and varied business problems has developed my problem-solving skills whilst translating complex concepts into clear and simple communication tailored to meet the needs of the audience and to gain the desired outcome has developed my communication skills.
As a Risk analyst, stakeholder management has been central to my role as I have had to build and maintain working relationships with peers in other business areas and learn about their objectives and processes. I have had to work as part of a wider business team to ensure that Risk input is always sought when business proposals are formulated.
As highlighted in my CV, I have a strong work experience background. Thus, I am confident that I will be able to settle into the role with minimal supervision.
