Trained To Kill Analysis

The article “Trained to Kill” by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is a passage about how children are trained to do the actual tragedy of killing and Dave Grossman explains a series of steps and outstanding facts of real live events on how the shooter succeed on their missions without even trying that hard. Lt. Col. Dave Grossman wrote eleven different sections on how the executor gets trained and psychological ideas that go through their minds before they go out to complete their mission such as, murder simulators, classical conditioning, and role modeling. One of his main points is murder stimulators. Murder simulators, provide children with practice, practice and more practice every day they play video games because they are being trained to shoot once, since the target will always fall after being hit once instead of firing until the victim drops which is considered normal. Col. Dave Grossman focuses on the media, games and movies but i believe its something bigger. Although media plays a big role on how the crimes are put out there I believe that culture has a much more bigger influence on children such as, morals, beliefs, and respect. The reason being is, in some cultures like the chinese culture believes a lot in the respect for the elder and children are taught at a young age to have respect to everyone and for anyone, therefore; learning morals and portraying right conduct that is expected from them. As well as using classical conditioning to make them understand that their bad behaviors will not be tolerated such as, comparing bad behaviors and associating it with punishing the child or making them feel down on what they did and slowly teaching them that if they do something bad they will be looked frowned upon and punished to learn to never do it
