The proud warrior stood where he had for the past hour, waiting to meet Tragold Arroway and speak of the Lion’s Main. The warrior, Mal'ganis be his name, cladded himself in the thickest plate mail and wore a holy symbol and a family amulet inscribed with magic round his neck. Tragold slowly walked out and called the Dragonborn to his office. “Let us not waste time” muttered Mal’ganis. “Right to the point, aren’t you?” “I am the tip of his spear” “The bane of his foes?” “And the woes of the treacherous” as he stretched …show more content…
Tragold gestured for them to go inside and they did. Inside were modest furnishings fit for 5 people at the most with a tough stone floor, perfect for the axe to rest upon. “I’m guessing you’re not new to fighting monsters?” “I wonder what gave it away. Was it the big menacing scar on my face? Or was it the bloodstains on my axe? Perhaps the belt of Kobolds skulls across my waist?” Tragold lifted one hand gesturing to stop “Enough. You know what I meant.” “Aye” he said with a deep sigh. “Nearly eight years ago I saw my family burn as a lunatic tried to set fire to my whole village. I week later I tracked the fool and confronted him in single combat. A bloody battle took place where we both fought until our bodies could no longer function. We fell unconscious onto a field and in the morning; I woke up, he didn’t. On my way back to what remained of my home, I found an amulet of Kord. I took it as a good omen and joined to most rigorous training I could find, naturally, I became a

Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken falls into a greatly interesting biographical category, bellying a compelling and immersive narrative of endurance when facing adversity, supported from associated historical sources. This all helps to create a sort of patchwork, contributing uniquely to going through the different sections, or “acts,” to Louis Zamperini’s life; from childhood days of delinquency, which would become channeled into an exceptional running career, spurned quickly by the call to World War II as a pilot, bringing about his captivity and torture at the hands of the Japanese. This encompasses the bulk of the story, with due emphasis given to the fallout of after the war ends, but the reasons for this being so effective is that Hillenbrand…

    Green Knight Criticism

The 14th century Arthurian romance “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” opens with a description of the fall of Troy and subsequent founding of Rome and Britain, introducing an idea the author revisits numerous times: the necessity of destruction to growth, death to life. The poem could, itself, be said to follow an overarching life cycle; it begins and ends in matching references to Brutus and is propelled by stanzas that feel cyclic in their rhyming five line closes. To be less abstract, however, through characterization, in-plot games, and setting, “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” conveys the necessity of faith to coping with life cycles, in which death is an immanent part.…

Issues of gender is very important to adolescent literature. Gender is the first thing people generally look for when reading a book. Readers look for a character that they can associate with, or imitate. When reading adolescent literature, knowing the gender of the characters in the story, gives readers assumptions about the characters themselves without even knowing their background. Even if the author decided not to formally establish or intentionally state the gender of their characters, the readers would take their own initiative and assign the characters genders based on the actions taken in the story.…
