We first seen Nate showing determination, when he brought the entire town to gather around the building where the board members were deciding on either keeping or getting rid of the football program. He was so determined to keep the football program, so they would be able to honor the horrible tragedy. He also showed determination during practice, he was tackling others while fighting the cruciating pain of his shoulder. All because after the game he heard the coach talking to one of the trainers saying practice was going to dictate whether he could play next game. We seen Nate flourishing his loyalty skills during his first game when he decided to continue playing in the game even though his shoulder was in agonizing pain instead of sitting out. He also proved he was very loyal when one of his teammates took his jersey off threw the jersey on the floor, so he got into an altercation with him as well as making him pick up his jersey. He felt it was very disrespectful to his old teammate who wore that jersey.
