September 11th 2001 was a typical day in New York city. Residents and workers in the big apple started their days as they normally did, completely unaware that this day would not only change their lives but the lives of every person in the entire nation. At 8:45 am, American Airlines 767 collided into the North Tower of the World Trade center. Following flight 767, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South tower of the World trade center. Thousands of Americans lives were lost that day, and 9/11 is now known as one of Americas most horrific tragedies caused by terrorism.

The Sandy Hook Shooting significantly impacted my life as a high school student and sadly not in a good way. It was suddenly scary to go to a school I had always felt safe in. Since the shooting, many security changes at my high school took affect. Fear of an event happening in other schools has caused school administrators and personnel to take action to protect their facilities from this type of situations. My school had many additions and changes that accompanied the security changes, including security personal.
