Recently, Toronto, one of the biggest city in Canada, has traffic congestion problems which faces a lot of big cities around the Toronto. According to Transportation reporter of the star ( Kalinowski. T, 2016), Toronto ranked 64 out of 174 big cities in 38 countries and was the second most congested city among six Canadian centres, Kingston, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Winnipeg and Parkland County, ranked on the TomTom index. All six fell slightly on the index from the previous year. In North America, Toronto ranked ninth for congestion, with Mexico City, Los Angeles and San Francisco is taking the top three spots and Vancouver the fourth. The biggest solution of traffic congestion is signal timing. According to Global news (McAllister, M. 2016), “Toronto’s 5-year congestion management plan suggests signal timing will be improved at major intersections throughout the city up to 25 per cent by 2018.” Through this technology, real time traffic data is provided. Also, driver can know what traffic flow is and where construction place is or even police presence with voice. In addition, it is a low-cost and high-impact initiative. As such, traffic congestion is occurring as a serious problem that should be solved quickly. There are several solution of traffic congestion: upgrading traffic laws, using public transportation and cycling and signal timing. All of these solutions are executing in Toronto.
