Jesus commanded that we commemorate his death, not his birth.—Luke 22:19, 20. • Jesus’ apostles and early disciples did not celebrate Christmas. The New Catholic Encyclopedia says that “the Nativity feast was instituted no earlier than 243 [C.E.],” more than a century after the last of the apostles died. • There is no proof that Jesus was born on December 25; his birth date is not recorded in the Bible. • We believe that Christmas is not approved by God because it is rooted in pagan customs and rites.—2 Corinthians 6:17.(WATCH TOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA, …show more content…
Jehovah Witness celebrate Jesus’s death instead of his birth like Christianity. Where Christianity has Priest, Preachers Rabbi’s etc. the Jehovah services are lead each week by a different member of the congregation the service is more of a group participation once the lesson has been delivered it is like a study group session. Jehovah makes it their mission to go out and witness more to the public where other religions do the same in other ways as in helping host events to celebrate the holidays such as Holiday dinners open to the public as a chance to witness to the public and celebrate the holidays. I spoke to a friend who is a practicing Jehovah Witness. Teresa Rivas asked many questions from me and the following is her responses to those questions. Teresa stated “We are Jehovah Witnesses and we attend the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall located at 5100 S Hattie Oklahoma City, OK. We study out of the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. We also, use our website JW.org. We do not

In Valerie Tarico’s article, “Christianity’s own ‘War on Christmas,’” she states that Christianity takes part in a practice called “syncretism.” Syncretism is when local traditions and religions are absorbed into Christianity. In fact, Tarico claims that Pagan temples became churches, indigenous gods became saints and pagan festival days were turned into Christian holy days. To further this idea of syncretism, Tarico goes on to say that the earliest documentation of Christmas comes from the fourth century; it seems to be related with the union of Christianity and Rome.…

Being able to refuse treatment for your child is your own choice you can base your choice off many things like risks, if the treatment is truly needed, and religion. Some parents believe that if a child gets a blood transfusion they will go to Hell because it says in The Bible, these people are Jehovah’s Witnesses; this is considered an ethical dilemma because there are two morally right choices based on which side you take. An ethical dilemma is essentially to choose between two or more morally correct or morally wrong choices. With ethical dilemmas come problems, religion plays a large role in our community about 0.8% of the United States population is a Jehovah’s Witness, that may seem like a tiny amount but that’s actually about 2.5 million…

Jesus of Nazareth, the Christian Messiah, was a Jew who followed and fulfilled the laws of the Torah, the Old Testament, and never did abrogate Jewish tradition or authority.…
