The Hunger Games was a death match that would be broadcasted on TV. The Hunger Games were created because of a battle with the districts wanted to attchive higher power but they lost the battle and the game was a punishment. In the movie there were districts and as a tradition every district would have two girls and two boys to represent them. The boys and girls could volunteer or they were selected by a random drawing out of a box. When the people are picking they are sent of to kill each other. The last person standing would be the winner. I believe this tradition lost its main purpose. The tradition was created as punishment but stayed for many years because people seen it as enetertament. Like in the lottery people didn’t try to stop the tradition. I believe both the Lottery and the Hunger Games feared the higher power for change. I think in both of the stories if people protested against the tradition then they would get killed by the higher power. In a sense by having random drawings gave both the people in the Lottery and Hunger Games a higher chance of
