Here is a story about a boy who was getting cyber bullied in college and he committed suicide. Here is the suicide of Tyler Clementi, “Tyler was a Rutgers freshman who jumped off the George Washington bridge near Manhattan in the month September [2010] after his roommate streamed video of a sexual encounter between Clementi and another male student-also grabbed headline.” (Swearer, "Traditional Forms of Bullying Remain a More Prevalent and Serious Problem.", 2016) “According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], suicide in the third –leading cause of death for 15-24 year-olds, behind traffic accident and homicide.” Here are some of the percentages of people committing suicide or getting cyber bullied. “In 2014 researches at Queen University said that one in every 10 teenagers considered self- harm at some point. (www.medicaldaily.com, 2015)” Also they stated “In England they found that 25% of adolescents who self-harm reported feelings of suicide during their most recent injury.” (www.medicaldaily.com, 2015) Cyber bulling can make kids do self harm and when people find out about it they talk about that person even more and it makes them cut themselves even more. This is a true story about a girl name Chloe from the young age 12 till she was 17 she did self harm. When she was 12 she use her nails to cut her when she was 15 she used scissor or a blade to cut herself she all was said that she never left home without something sharp. She never told her parents nor did she ever tell anyone that she was doing so much self harm to herself or that she was getting cyber bullied. One day her friend Jo was reading her diary and found out about her doing self harm to herself and that she was getting bullied her friend was shocked when they found out . By the time she was 17 she was very unhappy about what she done when she was younger and she started her treatment. NHS hospital treated more than 18,000 girls and 4,600 boys between the ages 10 and 19 after them harming themselves. Other reason why students do self harm is because of family history.
