Traditional families have changed over time. Now a days it's more commun to see single parents, divoreced familes and same sex families. The three main theories help us understand how institutions have changed over time. Functionalist developed theory is when elderly retire from work. Conflict deveoped is when elderly get benefits from social security.Symbolic interactionist developed is when society didn't want to help the elderly.

The three major theories help us understand how society has changed over time. For example, functionalist developed theory hlep us understan how the retiremet works for eldery people. As the text book explains if elderly left their jobs only when they died or become imcopetent. How does society get
