There is something about the way someone feels when they enter Trader Joe’s in Millburn. It could the cleanliness of the store, or the way how it smells when one first enters the store. Now the same cannot be said about Super Xtra in Newark. Millburn is an upper-class town with an expected median household income of $151,510 as of 2015. While Newark is a lower-class town with an expected median household income of $30,966 as of 2015. As of 2007 Milburn had a population of 19,187. Of the 19,187 there is 17,262 White people, 1,658 Asian people, 404 Hispanic people, 212 Black people, 229 other race. In 2014 Newark had a population of 280,579. Of those 280,579 there is 137,090 Black people, 100,432 Hispanic people, 30,495 White people, 5,938 Asian …show more content…
It is right next to a Pet Smart which is a friendly store and has other stores located in the mini mall. Around the area of Trader Joe’s they are beautiful big houses. It has a big moderate size parking lot for Trader Joe’s and all the other stores in the mini mall, there is also a parking lot in the back of it. In the parking lot, there are good looking cars in great shape. Most of the cars are from the year 2012 and up. Trader Joe’s does not have security camera’s because they trust their customers well. They have a wide variety of food from dairy to frozen food to excellent tasting olive oil. Most of the products that they sell in there are organic. They also mostly use their own brand rather than another company brand name. As soon as one enters you greeted by this wonderful smell of flowers and pumpkin. It is fall season and they have a lot of pumpkin around, but at the entrance they also have beautiful flower selections that smell marvelous. They also have a demo section to try out different things. In the fresh produce area all the lettuce, spinach, and everything is bagged. You will hardly find anything that is not bagged. It is better for it to be bagged so then clients don’t just come in and touch the vegetables or it does not contaminate with the …show more content…
When I was traveling to Trader Joe’s there were high schoolers running around for the sport they are playing. It is a safe area where people can walk around freely without being scared to do so. The same cannot be said for Super Xtra in Newark, one should be very careful to walk around in that area. When I was driving to Super Xtra I saw the houses boarded up and cars that are severely damaged just lying around in the street. Trader Joe’s worker help me find the products I was looking for by walking me over to the aisle. While in Super Xtra I had to ask the worker in Spanish because he did not know English and they just told me it was “over there.” In Trader Joe’s they really help and care for their customers. I cannot say that Super Xtra really cares for their customers. These two supermarkets are in different socio economic communities. Therefore, one could really tell the difference they feel in shopping in these two different
