On April 28, 1992, Chris McCandless stepped foot into the woods, a journey that would last four months, coming to an end much earlier than he would’ve hoped. In August of 1992, just four months after Chris walked alone into the wild, his perishing body was found by a party of moose hunters. Chris went into the wild hoping to get away from corrupt society and to live a transcendentalist lifestyle. His bold journey was going well until he made a silly mistake when he came across seeds from the wild potato. The seeds themselves are not what killed Chris, it was the amino acids in the seeds that caused him to slowly become paralyzed due to his malnutrition and physical state.…

My advice to makayla is to never get stuck on one question no longer than five minutes. It's okay to skip a question and come back to it later once you have answer all of the other questions. It's also okay to guess intelligently on some of the questions. I feel that you shouldn't always linger on the same questions, because that can cause you to loose most of you time on the test. The thing about running is that you hate it until it’s over, at least for me that’s true. Personally, I like running, and it gives me a chance to get out and work towards something. All throughout high school, I’ve run track, and for two years I ran cross-country, both are great sports. The two years I ran cross-country made me wish I ran all four years. If you’re part of more than one sport, it’s natural to choose a favorite.…

The issue of declawing is being made more obvious to the horrors it can cause to your beloved feline friend. When an onychectomy, otherwise known as a declaw, is performed it is equal to cutting off your finger at the first knuckle. The bone of the third phalanx is removed, it is not just cutting the nail off. Cat's nails retract, by cutting into these muscles and tendons you risk serious long-term physical and emotional impacts. 61 of 163 cats experienced chronic pain for 1-42 days after the surgery ("American Veterinary Medical Association", 2016).…

Survey shows that an immense amount of Americans believe that being unique and standing out is more valuable than fitting in. To be more precise, 83% of people surveyed believe this to be true. Personally I didn’t find these results to be that shocking because as a society we push people to be uniquely themselves so often. If you were to google the term ‘inspiring quotes’ majority of those quotes are centered around the beauty of standing out. We’ve been brainwashed to believe that standing out is better than fitting in without fully understanding the benefits of the latter.…

There are students today that are extremely smart but never get a good grade in class because of the standard grading scale known in almost every school. The standard grading scale is a five letter grading scale that determines if the student passses or not. In America everybody knows when it is report card day because parents know that their kids should be bringing home a report card to measure how their kid is doing in school. This has corrupted our country and how parents expect their kids to bring home a report card with all A’s. If rescuers weren't allowed to risk their lives for people it would be chaos, then firefighters would not be able to get close to an fire, police would not be able to get close to stop someone from committing a crime, and even doctors and people in ambulances because they could get contaminated with what their patients have. Without people to risk their lives for others our country would not be able to run. Rescuers should be able to save people if they are in danger even if it risks their lives. To start, people think that if one person dies doing something then it should be not allowed anymore but that is wrong.…
