Tracey Autobiography

I was born and given the name Tracey Nicole Holmes. My mother said she had always liked the name Tracey. In fact, she liked the name so much that if I had been a twin, she'd named us Tracey and Stacey. Me personally, I didn't really like the name Tracey. I was born to Diane Edwards and James Holmes Sr. I don't remember everything about the early years of my life. I remember bits and pieces and the things I’ve been told. I was born August 13, 1982 at East Meadows hospital in Long Island New York. According to my mother she was induced with me. She said my due date was August 1, but I just didn't want to come out. My mother often tells me, "I was slow moving then, and I'm still slow moving now." I like to think that I was just waiting …show more content…
I wanted to be with her all the time. I dreaded being separated from her. As I got a little older, I remember I hated being sent to my aunt’s house with my siblings for vacations. I didn't want my mother to leave. When we were at home, I detested when she had to go to work. I would always call her several times while she was at work. Nothing could take the place of mama! No person could make me feel secure like being around my mom could. Now, my dad, my dad was another story. He was in and out of our lives , so he couldn't compare to my mother; neither could my brothers and eldest sister. I have a total of six siblings. I have four brothers and two sisters. One of my sisters whom I've never met. Five of my siblings are by my mom and my sister who I never met is by my dad. She is the result of my dad's infidelity. My biological father is the dad of three of my mom's children. My other siblings on my mom's side are from a previous marriage and relationship. I was raised with four out of my six siblings. One of my older brothers chose to live with his father at an early age. I always missed my brother and often wondered how life would have been if he were raised in the house with the rest of

The sad part about it all is that I really can’t speak on my father’s side of the family that much because he hasn’t been in my life for over 15 years. I have no relationship with him whatsoever because I gave him a number a chances to be in my life and he never took advantage of that opportunity. Although, I would have liked for him to see me grow up and became the young man I am today he has shown me on numerous occasions that he didn’t see potential in me or my other seven siblings he’d abandoned, some of them I still have yet to meet. I don’t think anyone will ever feel my pain of not having a father figure in their life as much as I had to. No male role model, no guidance just a single mother doing the best she can for her children with no handouts.…

“Persistence and resilience only comes from having been given the chance to work through difficult problems.” Was well said by an American writer Gever Tulley (BrainyQuates, 2017). During October 2, 1984 through February 15, 1990 was one of my toughest years of my life. As a child, my perspective towards life was being naive, selfish and did not understand why my parents were temporarily separated and what was going on in the United States. First, I will explain what was going on during the era of 1986 through February 15, 1989.…

My “aunt’ Penny and “uncle” Bud were closer aunt and uncle to me than anyone. My two “adopted” moms, Mici and Christina, didn’t affect me anywhere near as much as my mother, but they were there for me when I needed them and I did learn things from them. My “adopted” siblings Justin, Jacob, and Woody were as much (if not better) brothers as I imagine any blood brother could be. My other “adopted” brother, Shawn, is actually my step-cousin, but my mom and stepdad raised him so he was basically my brother as well.…

I was born and raised in Bakersfield California on September 19, 1992 in Kern Medical Center shortly after midnight. I would not be in Bakersfield if it were not for my grandparent packing up and moving from Mississippi with 6 children inside of a van. My grandfather Cardell Martin was born in a little town outside of Greenville, Mississippi and my grandmother was born and raised inside in Greenville, Mississippi. My grandfather worked in the fields and well as my grandmother who picked cotton on some plantations growing up in the South. My mother and I did not share a typical mother/daughter relationship. There was a time when we would not even speak and years would pass before I would even see her again. However, I would always see her when I looked into the mirror, since I looked just like her. I would hear her laugh because our laughs were identical, and small details we shared would remind me of the relationship I was missing, the relationship I felt everyone took advantage of. During my senior year all hope of a possible reconciliation would be lost.…
