The movie has all the same main characters and it allows them to progress and develop through out the second film. A great example of this development would be when Woody goes out to save Buzz Lightyear from Sid, the toy destroyer, in the first movie and Buzz realizes that he is just a toy and that Woody is trying to help save him from the scary kid. They then become friends, and this friendship gives Buzz the motivation to keep pushing to try to save Woody when he gets kidnapped. The two movies portray a similar style as well. They both have comical moments and scenes that will show the toys emotions. Also, they both have obstacles the toys must overcome and challenging situations. The only let down is the lighting. The lighting looks blown out in a few scenes, but this is nothing the audience cannot over look. Especially with the original Toy Story being the “first CGI animated film”, which came out only 3 years before the sequel (Bowie-Sell). Not to mention, the crew had several technical difficulties. At some point during the movie making process a lot of the files had accidentally been deleted. They started it all over and almost 9 months before the movie was going to theaters the crew decided that they did not like the film. Eventually, they decided to trash it and start again, ending with the product we know today as Toy Story 2

Most of the films we have watched used the 4:3 aspect ratio and some of the newer ones used 16:9. This aspect ratio makes for a more cinematic experience, and wider shots that can be seen better in theaters. Several other similarities was there costumes, and character assets. This next paragraph will explain some of the important similarities and why it was right or wrong to keep them the same across the story and the movie. To start off, the most obvious and important difference is the setting which is futuristic and science-fiction-y. This had to be kept the same or else the meaning behind the story and the actual plot itself would mean absolutely nothing. Also, it was essential, in my opinion, that the nursery and the different themes of the nursery were kept the same because, again, the story would have been meaningless if they were to be changed. Aside from the obvious similarities, here is one that, if changed, would have surprisingly not have made the story any different: the names of the characters. It is common knowledge when a movie is being made based off of a book or story that you should keep the character’s names the same so that the observers are not confused.…

Any movie can be a box office success, but it takes a special movie with special qualities to be a memorable and an entertaining one. The recent Transformers movie: Age of Extinction grossed an exceedingly large amount of money in theaters and was a good source of “eye candy”; however, this movie lacked the standers for a great film. With a predictable plot, meager acting, and poor character development; no parent or grandparent would be drawn to this movie. On the other hand, a movie like Star Wars is more than entertaining and memorable for anyone of any age because its plot is truly unique. A son, born of a Sith Lord, must survive in a galaxy torn apart by a galactic war all while struggling to deal with the temptations of the Dark Side.…
