Life can be humorous at times; I went from disliking BCM meetings to the President. I was hoping for just spiritual growth and I found that and more. I cannot imagen being at any other school but Towson. I am so proud of my experiences and humbled at how I can help others. While I am growing everyday BCM has made the most impact on me as a whole. I am excited to see how this semester brings new experiences with in BCM and Towson

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. Growing up in a military family never allowed me to settle down and call a single place home. Starting with what felt like a new life every four years, with new people in an unfamiliar place definitely helped to shape me into the person that I am today. The idea that I was given in fourth grade of moving from Germany back to the United States was difficult to believe, but the idea of moving there with only my mother was unfathomable. Yet after a short time, what seemed to be unimaginable was fairly simple. I was able to adjust quickly; I soon graduated middle school and was accepted into Wayne School of Engineering.…

I thought an HBCU would offer me the community and experience a PWI could not. However, since I was born in Stillwater and my father received his Master’s Degree from OSU, I decided to give the university a shot.…

Although I only had a short amount of time to work with MN, I feel as though my care plan and expectations of the client were realistic and beneficial. I had never before worked with someone who was deemed palliative and who was going through a significant period of transition in their life, so it was very valuable for me to be able to look at the many ways in which it impacts an individual. I believe that during my time with MN we shared similar beliefs and values making it effortless to implement goals and objectives, while in turn, having her agree and be motivated to make changes in regards to her priority health issue. If I had the chance to work with MN again, I would be interested in spending more time talking to her about her mental health, as there are many emotions that come along with a palliative diagnosis.…
