Tower Of London Research Paper

The tower of London is a very pretty building. It is also known as her majesty's royal palace and fortress of the Tower of London. It is by the River Thames in central London. It was built by William the Conqueror in 1078. It symbolized oppression that was caused by new rulings in London. The castle was also believed to be used as a prison from 1100-1952 but that wasnt its primary purpose. I found on a website that it talks about how the tower is actually a complex of several buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and also a moat. The tower has been used for many different things. Some examples of this are an armoury, a treasury, a menagerie, home of royals, a public records office, home of the crown jewels of England.

After hours of research I have learned more than I would have ever imagined, I’m going to cover the meaning, the history and the honor of getting to wear the castle upon my collar. Throughout my reading, I found out that the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) adopted the triple-turreted castle for the engineers due to its meaning of fortification, building, and breaching. Use of this castle was first implemented at the Military Academy in the 1840’s for Cadets to wear on their uniforms due to at that time the Academy was ran by the Engineer Corp. Introduction Australia has some of the worlds most diverse and unique ecosystems, these are constantly under threat from both human impacts and natural processes. I believe that to protect our native species we need to attract people to our National parks, one example of this is Kings Park a state icon in Western Australia with over 13,000 different species located and protected on its grounds. The problem with Kings Park is that it doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. I think by building biomes and other interesting Architectural wonders, we can create artificial ecosystems too hold an even larger variety of flora from all the different ecosystems around Australia and the world. These new buildings serves the purpose of showcasing Australia’s…

Towards the end of the Middle Ages in around 1100, a period of castle-building and sieges emerged in Medieval Europe. This formed a new type of warfare called Siege Warfare. This way of fighting featured gigantic, heavily-defended castles and armies of men with multiple weapons in an attempt to siege a castle. A castle is a large, medieval fortress that housed lords, a King and Queen, Knights and other groups of people. Thousands of castles were built in places throughout Europe, such as Italy, Germany and England.…

The secret 1464 marriage between Elizabeth and the then philandering bachelor, newly crowned King of England, was not a political alliance. Custom and tradition dictated that Edward’s bride would be of noble birth, preferably a princess or a high ranking noblewomen from another European kingdom which would bring foreign alliances to England. This potential match would also need to be a virgin. Historian J.L Laynesmith wrote, “He [Edward IV] had apparently rejected all the prospective endorsements of his kingship that a wife could bring.” To the surprise and the dismay of Edward’s advisors, he married an older, widowed mother of two from a low ranking family within his own country.…

In the “Princes in the Tower” article, “Sir Thomas More states that the princes were smothered with the pillows on their beds by Sir James Tyrell, John Dighton and Miles Forest” (Paragraph 7). This goes to show that Elizabeth was probably in the tower while this was happening to her sons. As a mother she didn’t know nothing of it and she couldn’t have. She was probably busy doing something else while her sons were getting murdered or she was probably already sleeping. Once she found out about the murder, I can not imagine how she felt because as a mother, that has to hurt knowing that you were there under the same roof and wasn’t aware of anything that was going on.…
