Size and weight:
The towels are measured in the unit known as the GSM. The towels which have lower GSM are lighter and also less expensive. The quality of the towels with high GSM is higher and they are also more expensive.
Absorbency of the towels:
One of the most important factor that needs to be considered is the absorbing quality of the towels. A good quality towel is thick, soft and absorbent. The cotton towels are composed of loops within a weave. The loops of the fabric allow the towel to absorb water. The number of loops present in the towel determines its ability to absorb the water. Towels which are composed of loops of thick yarns are able to absorb more moisture. The manner in which the loop is twisted also effects the absorbing ability of the towels.
Ability to get dry:

For our diffusion experiment our group decided to work with salt water and gummy bears. Our experiment tested the weight of the gummy bears per salt dilutions. Our tests included 1g 2.5g 5g, 1.5g, and 10g of salt diluted with water. We knew that the higher the concentration of salt diluted into the water the heavier the diffused gummy bear would be, therefore we measure weight as our numerical data. My hypothesis was that the 10g dilution of salt would have the gummy bear with the largest mass.…

    Duckweed Lab Report

After completing this experiment, I reject the hypotheses that when the amount of dish soap is increased in the water and duckweed solution, there will be more fronds of duckweed because the phosphorus and nitrogen in the dish soap will cause eutrophication and increased growth in the duckweed. There was not a significant (20%or more) difference in growth in any of the jars. The expected results were that jar B would have the most growth of duckweed because it was the most concentrated with dish soap, so there was more nitrogen and phosphorus in the jar to cause eutrophication. The expected result was that with every jar that had a smaller concentration of dish soap, there would be a smaller increase in duckweed growth. The actual experiment…

After looking over our data, we concluded that the strongest brand of paper towels by sheet and also by roll was Target's Up&Up brand. Although Up&Up was the strongest brand, we then checked to see which brand was giving you the most strength per dollar you spent on their paper towel roll. Viva and Bounty both costed $1.56 per roll, while Up&Up costed only $1.27 per roll. After doing dimensional analysis we were able to conclude that Up&Up gave the most strength per roll with 37.13 lbs per dollar, while Viva gave 28.8 lbs per dollar, and Bounty only gave 26.6 lbs per roll. This drew us to the conclusion that Up&Up is the is the best towel to purchase because it is both the strongest, cheapest, and gives you the most strength per dollar.…

In the experiment, I tested how soapy water would affect the amount of droplets the penny can hold. The results of my experiment show that the penny holds less droplets of soap water. When the soap is added to the water, the soap collides with water breaking down the tension. As a result, it harder for the droplets to hold together. To find whether my hypothesis was right, I did several of trials to figure out whether my hypothesis was correct.…

The purpose of this project is to see which liquid evaporates at the fastest rate, when it is directed toward the sunlight. People should care about this project because, for example if you are stranded on an island and you only have sprite, apple juice, and cooking wine then you would need to know which one will last the longest. This can impact your daily life because most people end up leaving their drinks all over the kitchen and forgetting about it. They come back the next day realizing that they left it out, and they are left wondering if the liquids are still good.…
