Attention Getter: There is something in New Mexico for everyone including national monuments for historians, White Sands Desert for adventurers, Very Large Array for scientists, and Roswell, New Mexico for your inner conspiracist. Thesis: New Mexico has a broad variety of destinations including national monuments, Very Large Array, White Sands Desert, and Roswell, New Mexico.
Transition: For all you historians out there, there are many national monuments in New Mexico.

The monument is home to more than 800 different animal species, many of them being nocturnal. Included in this number are species from all groups of the animal kingdom such as mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and invertebrates.Several species of animals have developed very specific means of surviving in this harsh environment, enabling them to thrive in a place with little surface water and highly mineralized ground water. c. Some of the activities of the White Sands Desert include backcountry camping, hiking, and sledding. i. The White Sands National Monument offers the opportunity to backcountry camp amongst the glistening gypsum dunes of New Mexico. There are ten main backcountry camping sites available. ii. The best way to explore the dunes and enjoy the silence and solitude of the dune fields is to go hiking. On your journey, you will see stunning views of the surrounding mountains. iii. Not only do the dunes look like snow, but they also behave like snow as well. Sledding down the smooth face of sand dunes is a popular and exhilarating activity at the White Sands National Monument.
