On August 31, 1997, Princess Diana of Wales died when her driver, Henri Paul, crashed the car in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris, France. Many people think that the death of Princess Diana was purely an accident, and it wasn’t planned. People failed to notice, however, that Henri Paul was keeping connections with the SAS, which is a special forces unit that branched away from the British army. By rethinking their approach to her death being an accident, people can fix others who think the same, and focus their minds on how Henri Paul was truly responsible. Henri Paul intentionally crashed the car, killing Princess Diana for three reasons; he was driving the car recklessly, he was drunk while driving, and he was keeping connections with the SAS.…

“If white people need colleges to furnish teachers, ministers, lawyers, and doctors, do black people need nothing of the sort?” (Du Bois). Today, this question is a foregone conclusion for anyone. In the 1800’s and early 1900’s, this question might have been harder for some to answer correctly, not because they didn’t know the answer, but because their strong racial discrimination was standing in the way of common sense. William Edward Burghardt Du Bois dedicated his entire life to the betterment of the African community around the globe.…

The characteristics of Fauvism in the painting #5.8, Le Bonheur de vivre by Henri Matisse has the use of strident colors with wild brush strokes that are expressive. It depicts different moods in the composition where the viewer can see various of women just minding their own business and have strong colors that vibrate throughout the piece. It has more of a impressionist feeling than an actual idealized, academic painting, which means more geometric shapes and less fine lines. This particular work of art has multiple scenes going on into one composition where each figure is distant from each other, but share some of the rich colors that are applied everywhere. Also, this was inspired by a variety past works from different artists that have…

A famous French postmodernist philosopher, known as Jean Baudrillard, once said that the consumerist decision today is characterized generally not by the cost of a specific item, but rather by its typically added worth. This additional quality relies on upon the symbol which it portrays; the more appealing the image is, the higher the additional worth is, which can surpass generation costs ten times and that's only the tip of the iceberg. As of right now, the most widely recognized value supplementing products being sold is joy. For example, a woman may purchase a stuffed animal because it reminds her of the one she lost during her family’s move when she was very young. The current way of life requests individuals to be perpetually joyous, lively, and expansive; increasingly more brands delicately indicate or specifically say that their goods can make their consumers more content.…

Film began with the simple invention of the magic lantern in the 17th century. All it needed to work was light, such as a candle, and crude lenses. It was used for entertainment and often times, education, for all ages. It remained very popular until motion toys came about and soon the concept of “persistence of vision” came forth, in which it is “the eye's capacity to retain an image even after it has been removed”. Peter Mark Roget in 1824 came up with that description and idea and helped advance in cinema.…

Debussy's Musical Impressionism "I have no hobbies... They never taught me anything but music." ––Claude Debussy. He brought an entirely new musical style into the public eye; he expressed visual phenomena by appealing to auditory senses; he stepped outside of the grasp of Romanticism, yet still followed its pathways; he paved the road for nearly all modern music to be composed after him; he altered music history. Claude Debussy was nothing if not an absolute master of the art of composition, yet, as a man, he was so much more than just a musician––he was a strong-willed, inventive, and confused man who used music to express his views of life.…
