Tough Mudder is a big event that I got involved in whilst working on hand for a mobile catering service. This event is held at Cholmondeley Castle in the Cheshire area, situated 30 minutes away from Chester and an estimated 27 minutes away from Wrexham (Google Maps 2015). Approximately 2,000,000 people have taken part since Tough Mudder started in 2010 with events being held all over the world, in places such as: UK, U.S, Australia, Canada and also Germany (Tough Mudder Inc 2015).
This event consists of a 12 and a half mile course with approximately 20 very deceiving obstacles to face, this includes such things as: Electroshock therapy, cage crawl and the Arctic Enema. This idea of the team orientated course was first conceived by two English men to test people’s physical fitness and mental strength. This means not only pushing people’s body to the ultimate limits but also conquering any fears they may have, weather that be hights, deep water, fire or electric shocks, Tough Mudder has it all (Tough Mudder Inc 2015). …show more content…
Their hypothesis made it to the semi-final in the annual business competition. The idea was to not create a race but a challenge for teams of people to face. There are no winners and no medals, only a headband and a pint of beer for the people who finish. The purpose for this event is purely challenge the mental and physical ability, to give them a thrill and a sense of achievement when they have completed the course as a team (Issie Lapowsky
