The main character in this is Ender Wiggin, He is a 6 year old boy who is very smart and invited to go to Battle school. Battle school is a school for kids who train and learn so one day they can help fight Earth’s enemy, the Buggers. Near the end of the book colonel Graff and mazer Rackham tricked Ender into thinking A real life, important situation was a simulation. Ender was mad about what they did to him but it was what they needed to do. “Sometimes lies are more dependable than the truth” (Card pg 284). Ender would not have Killed the buggers if he knew it wasn’t a simulation. Graff was talking to Ender about how humanity relies on him to save the world. Graff stated “Individual Human beings are all tools, that the others use to help us all survive” (card 35). Manipulation is necessary in this circumstance because they needed the best and smartest person to defend the Earth, and ender was being as a tool to defeat the Buggers. This can make a difference in somebody’s life because it shows how manipulation isn’t always bad and how manipulation can be used to benefit even if it seems
