The whole movie “Inception”, is a dream from start to end due to the fact that the movie follows logical steps into a dream and its possible outcomes. Examples indicating that the movie “Inception" is a dream derive from the sharing of totems, the odd start to the movie, and the aging of Saito. The examples show the movie its similar dream characteristics that make Cobb fall into the falsity of reality.
A key example that explains the dream like sensation is the totem. From start to end, the totem plays a role in Cobb’s mind in order to differentiate the difference between reality and dreaming. The secret comes that the totem that Cobb uses belonged Mal, making the totem useless. According to Cobb’s friend’s words about totems and deafgeoff,
