Stalin had the Soviet Union industrialized within a decade and a modern nation was created, other countries had lacked such technology. In brave new world Mustapha Mond had built a whole society based on technology just as Joseph Stalin had done. “The Soviet Union embarked on a far-reaching program of industrialization. Factories, power stations, steel works, hydroelectric dams, and other technological necessities for a modern nation were created” (dowswell 18). Stalin also used his own form of “conditioning” on the leaders who were going to be fighting in the civil war, Stalin’s conditioning process was used to show absolutely no fear when such terror occurred. “Under the pressures of the civil war, the kinds of leaders that emerged had to be people who would not flinch from cruel measures and who understood the use of terror” (Watts 62). Mustapha Mond and Joseph Stalin share this same tactic, Mond Conditions the people and prepares them to not fear death when it comes because death is a natural thing and you cannot beat death. Although Stalin was identified as a ruthless man he did accomplish many things while taking control of the Soviet Union and this left a major impact on society
