Totalitarian Hogs Animal Farm was published in England on 17 August 1945. George Orwell called his book, ‘Animal Farm: A Fair Story.’ According to Orwell, Animal Farm was a parody of the Russian Revolution, which he defined as ‘violent conspiratorial revolution led by unconsciously power- hungry people’. The description of the animals that lived in the farm is as follow; Major was a prize-winning boar who was the inspiration for the rebellion. Napoleon was the pig that was the leader of animal farm after the rebellion against Mr. Jones. He was ‘power hungry’. according to Francis Fukuyama “Violence or the threat of violence is often necessary to break the hold of incumbents who are blocking social or political change.” Unfortunately, Napoleon used the dogs as a form of threat of violence to make sure that the other animals in the farm did not interfere with the political change, so he could create his own government. The hogs working together, created a totalitarian form of government which belongs to the middle of the political spectrum since they did not wish to adhere to democracy between the animals in the farm. The seven principles of animalism inscribed on the side of the barn were forgotten. The pigs thought that they were better than all the other animals. Napoleon formed a friendly relationship with human farmers and together they were against the working class of both animal and human communities. He changed the name of the farm back to the Manor farm. This last act of Napoleon is his final step to abandoning the principles of animalism that were Majors dreams. The treatment against the other animals was unfair such as “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” In the end, it was hard for the other animals to distinguished pigs from man and man from pigs.
