I don’t really want to become a true and total recluse, and I can tell that it is going to take real effort to maintain a positive attitude within my small inner circle as I increase my isolation from others. A kind of anger wants to flare up within me when I catch glimpses of resentment from those who do not approve of my non-social behavior. I am not yet so old that I cannot control such emotions, although I don’t know at what point that control might start to wear thin. I really don’t want to end up a bitter old man who makes life miserable for those who try to help him during the difficult final years.
