According to the dictionary, well-being refers to “a good or satisfactory condition of existence; a state characterized by health, happiness, and prosperity.” It is through exercise that we are able to gain this type of well-being in order to live our lives to the fullest. Not only is exercise a great way to combat health conditions and diseases, but it also contributes to our overall mental health by improving our mood, boosting our energy levels, and allowing our minds to feel at ease. It was through this class that I was able to better understand the importance of exercise through total body conditioning. However, I was never one to actually do it. I was always in a rush to get from one place to the next after my workout and never saw the true importance of it. When we began to do these things in your class, I realized how important it truly is, especially since I am prone to knee and IT-Band injuries. Not only did it allow me to avoid getting any joint or muscle injuries and make my workout go by more smoothly, but it also caused me less soreness the following day. It also allowed me to slowly increase and decrease my heart rate, allowing me to not feel overly exerted before or after I was done working …show more content…
I have never been a fan of HIT workouts and prefer doing just straight cardio, however, it was through interval training that I was able to push my body to the limit and obtain the results I wanted. My legs, arms, and stomach muscles feel much stronger and more defined. My favorite one thus far has been the partner workouts where you have an active rest. It allows you to motivate one another while getting a great workout in. I felt like Jell-O after class on those
