People may wonder what astronauts eat in space. Astronauts eat dehydrated food, which is food that has had all water removed from it. They can even eat dehydrated ice cream! Astronauts have problems with food that crumbles, such as bread. Because there is zero gravity in space, the remnants from food can float around in the shuttle and get lodged into instruments. So, tortillas are eaten instead of bread. The first astronauts had to drink their beverages out of tubes. Now, they have powdered all sorts of drinks so that all astronauts have to do is add water.
