The months for tornadoe activity is April to June. It usually occurs in the spring in the afternoon between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tornadoes can of course happen in any month and at any time wheather it’s in the day or in the night. What causes tornadoes are three different types of air. There is a layer of warm and humid air with south winds near the ground. In the upper atmosphere lies west or southwest cold winds. Instability is what’s created between the surface and the upper level depending on the temperature and moisture differences. The other layer is a hot dry air between the warm moist air in the low levels and the cool dry air above. The hot layer is like a cap that allows the warm air underneath it which makes it warm further and that makes the air even more unstable.
