Background and overview:
Tornados are one of the most damaging atmospheric hazards as they reach incredible wind speeds and cause great damage that is beyond repair. In the USA, on average, 60 people die each year from tornados. This is usually from falling or flying debris.
1.1 DESCRIPTION
Tornados can be casually described as a cylinder spinning with a Smokey colour to it from the ground damage or other that is trapped inside the cylinder. Tornados are a column of air that maintains contact with the ground or the convection zone. This particular part of the tornado is called the photosphere. The government usually sends out information to the people of popular tornado areas and tell them what they can do to prevent home and lives being destroyed. In other words, organizational skills.
4.2.2 during event and shortly after
All the government can really do after that is to hope for the best and hope the people of the location will be safe and will take their tips on board and use them. Also just like the community they will hold fundraises to help the homeless and the people who may have lost everything they own.
4.3 ADAPTATION/MITIGATION
There are many ways you can be prepared for a tornado, and not just the Bridge Creek-Moore tornado. These tips apply to all tornados. Firstly have emergency supplies at hand when there is to be a tornado. Your emergency supplies should include the following:
• Flashlights and extra batteries
• Portable battery-operated radio and extra batteries
• First-aid kit and manual; essential medicines
• Emergency food, water, cooking equipment, can opener
• Cash and credit cards
• Sturdy
