The third step of the four-step process is analyzing the ethicality of both alternatives in step two, which in this case is whether or not the implementation of the monitoring system should take place. The first process of the third step is applying the concept of consequentialism. Consequentialism "focuses on the goals, ends, results, or consequences of an action that is being taken."To begin this section of the process we had to decide if the implementation of the new monitoring system was done, who, if anyone, will be harmed? We decided that employees of the Topper travel agency, specifically the corporate travel agents, would be harmed with the potential of being fired for not complying with the company's new policies. We found that if the new monitoring system was utilized then Topper Travel Agency as a company, in terms of profits, would benefit as well as the customers who are seeking a fast, reliable, and safe reservation process. On the other hand, if the new system was not used the corporate travel agents would benefit because they would no longer have the stress of the time hindrance that the system would create. Also, some customers would benefit without the new monitoring system because then they would not have to worry about whether or not their right to privacy in their phone conversations was being compromised. Although both sides of the argument present great benefits and harm for all parties involved, we decided that from the two alternatives, the one with the maximum benefit would be if the new system was …show more content…
Supervisors have the right to bring up issues that their subordinates are having and take affirmative action if needed. Corresponding to this right, supervisors have the duty of making sure their workers are performing to the best of their abilities, including knowing the policies of the company. Also, since it is the right of the supervisor to hire and fire people, they need to make sure they are fulfilling their duty of training and helping the employees with issues that may arise, so there is less of a turnover
