The state, itself historically was known for “copper, cattle, cotton, citrus and climate which served an important role in the economy, with many jobs in agriculture, ranching, and mining” (Almanac, 2015). Probing to the center of the state is Phoenix, currently rated as the fifth largest city in the nation.
