Top Five Strengths

To know your strengths as an individual and be able to contribute them towards your future is something that helps a person grow to be successful in their career path. My top five strengths were competition, self-assurance, communication, individualization, and analytical. I was very pleased with my top five because it does connect with who I am, and types of strengths I need to pursue with my future. Competition is a someone’s instinctive personality that drives him or her to compete in all aspects of life. Whether it’s on a field, in the office or even within themselves. A person who is strong in communication is someone who enjoys speaking publicly. Someone who wants to divert everyone’s attention on him or her and what they are talking about and has the ability to lead a conversation. To be able to see different qualities in each person around you, and hear the little things is individualization. Individualization gives someone the ability to build strong teams by bringing together different personalities that all work well together. To be analytical means this person wants to make connections and understand peoples reasoning for the decisions they make. This type of person wants to know and understand the deep meaning of something and why an outcome happened they way it did.

Having competition be my strongest strength connects to how I am as a person. My entire life I was very intrigued by competition. I played three varsity sports and was not ever fully satisfied if I personally was not one of the strongest players. So with my instinct of completion I worked extremely hard and found myself to be varsity caption of field hockey, track, and lacrosse.
