The top 5 diet books of all time, in my opinion, are ones where you are allowed to follow a normal eating routine. I don't know anyone who can live on meat and cheese with no carbs, or drink only lemon juice and maple syrup for 10 days. I prefer a diet that consists of all the food groups and incorporates sweets. Let's be real people, a girl has got to eat. So here are my top five diet books of all time. 1. Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World by Lisa Lillien. I can't say enough about this book. It shows you how to take some of your favorite foods and make them healthier by cutting out tons of fat and calories. This food, whenever offered, must be indulged in immediately with as much consumption as possible. The fact is that these little cravings are a huge roadblock on your roadmap to success with your body. Even, the every once and a while, slight indulgence will still add pounds to your bottom line. At some point you just have to say enough. Get on a diet and stick with it for as long as it takes to be where you want to be. But how do you kill cravings? Well it is a simple experiment. See your brain has relationships with things in the world much like we have relationships with people. Your brain will recognize a certain room and think that it's safe and can get comfortable in this room. Just as we do with people we are familiar with. The brain looks at food the same way. It fires up the neuron circuits that make it want this familiar comforting food. It is hard to fight against your own brain. However consider a breakup with someone you had a relationship with. IT is rough for the first couple of days, then there might be a week or two or longing and wanting, and then you will start to really get over the situation and look for someone else. The brain has a strikingly familiar relationship with food! It will crave for its olds ways for a little while but gradually that memory will fade. So how do you cause a break up between your brain and food? The best way is to use a detox diet to rid yourself of food cravings. After completing a detox diet you will fell less attached to these foods. The important thing is the length of the detox diet. Your brain works through time so the longer you can get in the habit of building a negative association with certain foods the easier it will be to keep that going, discouraging you to fill up on junk food ever again. It takes some three weeks to build a new habit so if you want to get rid of food cravings with a detox diet make sure that you do it for at least three weeks. Detox diets
