People always ask, “why are you so young?”. This question has always been answered with my ambition to grasp leadership roles, and explore new ideas and experiences. The Top 200 Program was created for strongly driven students who seek career readiness skills to thrive independently, but grow as a unit. And this is truly a reflection of my character as I am constantly seeking new ways to get involved both academically and within my community to understand others, myself, and the world better. For example, as the director of corporate relations at the Human Resource Student Association, I connect with industry professionals -who were once a part of this program- to bridge the gap between academics at Ryerson to the workplace. This gap not only symbolizes the unity of growth between students and working graduates, but an indication of my belief that the Top 200 Program is a key factor in closing this gap. …show more content…
Students don’t only get leadership development practices, but also a mentor to help them gain the additional out-of-the-classroom comprehension. I would like to be a part of this program to gain a higher self-awareness to leverage my strengths, stand out from a crowd with confidence in my ideas, and be able to remember those I meet for support in the future. What I gain from the program depends on the amount of work I put in, and thus, I will take advantage of all the resources, whether it is the Leadership Summit or the One-one Mentorship to capitalize on by learning.
