First off, over all we are not even in the top 10 of best educational systems in the world! So even under the best conditions we are failing. East Asian nations continue to outperform across the board. South Korea tops the rankings, followed by Japan (2nd), Singapore (3rd) and Hong Kong (4th). Some factors are that contribute to their success and our failures are, they award effort above inherited “smartness”, have clear learning outcomes and goals, and have a strong culture of accountability and engagement. It is a privilege and honor to be educated unlike here in the US where we see it as a chore.
I believe our cookie cutter experience is not for all students. I do feel in elementary school we need to go back to the basics drill, skills and repeat. Most of all PHONICS and BASIC MATH SKILLS. I find it utterly disgraceful that we have children speaking Ebonics and not proper English!!! And, WE allow it and accept it!!!!!
I think we need to focus more on research and technology. I think elementary school should have longer hours and no homework and be very, very regimented. We need to hold each student and their FAMILIES accountable. The Liberal blow hearts should stop and look at the damage they are doing to our future …show more content…
I believe a student should be given one chance to pick and excel in an area they find interesting and will give them the tools to be employable, teach them dedication, responsibility, perseverance and determination. Given the proper tools and the right fit of an education, no one should have an excuses. What they do with them is their frailer or success. Colleges and Universities should not be “big business” our youth should be entitled to attend a school that not only meets their ability but that are also affordable. I strongly, feel there is a career, vocation or trade for everyone, I think given the proper tools everyone that is willing should have an opportunity to
