Three different areas of the Toomuc creek were chosen based on the judgment that they would represent the whole creek. From each area, a sample of water from upstream and downstream was taken from varying depths – the surface, middle and bottom. Prior to utilizing any equipment, it was washed with distilled water to rid the contaminants that may have been present. The labelled sample jar was then attached to the sampling pole and was immersed into the creek and was taken out when the jar was full. The thermometer was immediately used to measure the temperature and a pH indicator strip was inserted for five seconds and then removed.
