Too Nice Women Gaulier

It has been genuinely engaging and enjoyable to read the articles selected for this improvisation class. It’s no surprise that “Boooorrriinng!!!” was entertaining as well; however, I found it strange. I value the lessons derived from the article, but I find Philippe Gaulier’s teaching methods to be excessive and avant-garde. If I’m being completely honest, I think the author’s writing style is a bit pretentious, which adds to the over-the-top atmosphere of the article (ex. “Gaulier quickly performs surgery on her soul”). I’m not very conscious of the way I move and my physicalizations. It would be beneficial for me to use my body language more effectively in daily life. I need to continue to practice object work for improv. For some reason, it’s hard for me to picture an object as I’m miming. Still, those difficulties can be remedied with

I will; I Seek was performed and choreographed by Mariana Orozco Arango, who costumed the work herself and collaborated with three musicians, and a lighting designer, to help create her piece. Goal #3: Learn how to be more decisive in decision-making situations As a people pleaser, I have difficulty making decisions because I want to make sure everyone’s opinions and ideas are valued. However, this often leads to internal conflict because I take too long to make decisions, out of fear that I am making the wrong decision, hurting other peoples’ feelings or being overly assertive. Being more decisive will help me become a more confident and purpose-driven leader, which will demonstrate to my team members that I can lead them and that they can trust the choices I make. I will know that I have achieved this goal when others recognize my promptness in making decisions.…

In the book, From Values To Action, Harry Kraemer is able to unpack this idea of authentic leadership and how as leaders it well within our right not to know everything and its okay to be comfortable with that as long as we know what we know and who we would need to seek out in order to understand what we don’t know.
