“Many so-called educational reformers see technology as the panacea for what ails education in America, but technology is more a cause of what ails education than a cure for it” says Steve Nelson. There are many negative effects of technology; computer screens can cause vision problems, working for long periods of time on a computer can cause back pains, and also carpal tunnel be a result of typing or the use of cellphones in the classroom. “If students frequently use these devices at home, additional exposure at school could be viewed as harmful,” states Concordia. Inappropriate materials can be accessed through the internet and may be dangerous to children such as cyberbullying and child predators. “Digital devices in the classroom would probably lead to an even greater such disconnection,” says Concordia in reference to the social habits among students When asked, “Should schools permit digital devices?” Concordia believes that, “school districts have seen great improvements by the use of digital devices in the classroom.” However, they also believe there should be guidelines and rules for students to follow and students should be taught online safety. With guidelines and online safety, students can have a more secure learning environment for studying and researching. Concordia is an education website that was created by an educational
