She had been doing these things for two or three years as she worked at a bar in Springfield as a waitress when she met my father. My father at the time was also smoking week and doing cocaine as well, so they both began to become dealers on the side in order to fund their own addictions. After they were together a few years they were married inside the bar my mother worked at while they were high on cocaine. Three days after their marriage their home was swatted in the middle of the night while they were half naked. My mom says it all happened so fast she only remembers hearing loud noises and men with assault rifles breaking down the door to their bedroom. Both my mother and father spent a month in jail awaiting their trials. When their trials were conducted my mom was supposed to get twenty years in a federal jail while my father was supposed to get two years in prison. Somehow neither of my parents know how, but they both ended up with only five years’ probation.
