Tony Hawk is an extremely talented skateboarder that changed the world forever by teaching and spreading positive values such as responsibility, individuality and creativity through skateboarding to all people of all generations. Tony Hawk first found skateboarding as a platform for expression and he used it as such. Hawk spent most of his time in the skatepark creating new and crazy tricks such as the kickflip McTwist and the frontside 540. Hawk’s new tricks quickly spread throughout the sport and the media. Skateboarding is one of few sports that allow the full freedom of expression that is one of the key reasons the sport has gained so much popularity. It also required respect care which taught those who used the parks responsibility. The new parks also offered an outlet to those who needed a safe place to go relax and relive stress which can be very helpful to all people especially teens who often find themselves stressed out and bored.
In his youth, Tony Hawk grew up in Carlsbad California with his parents Frank and Nancy Hawk. When Hawk was 9 years old he was given a fiberglass skateboard that sparked his passion to pursue and change skateboarding forever. Dog town skateboards soon offered Hawk a sponsorship, he gladly accepted that offer and many others from famous and well-known brands such as Activation and Quicksilver. Tony hawk was fast on the road to success and he went on to create other outlets to inspire people to get outside and be active. Hawk worked with Activision to create a video game called “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” This game allowed you to be Tony Hawk and do the tricks he does.
