In this case Dale is the manager and Mary is the assistant manger. As previously, mentioned Dale has worked with the company for 15 years and is really proud and devoted to the company. This job was with Mary’s dream company, meaning she also cares about the company. This is a common goal between the two, and should be emphasized during a conflict resolution process. Mary is ambitious and has the skills to help the company further succeed.…
We all have habits, either good or bad. When we talk about habits, we automatically think of the bad ones we have developed, but whether they are bad or good; we often try or look for ways to change or break our habits. In the book, “The Power Of Habit” by Charles Duhigg. He argues that we develop habits as a way for our brains to save us time and effort, and once we develop a certain habit, it will not go away, but it can be changed.…
In order to change individual habits you need to understand how the Habit Loop works within our brain, which takes a three- step loop: the cue, the routine, and the reward. Williams James wrote in 1892 that most of the choices we make each day may feel like products of well-considered decision making but they’re not. They are actually habits. Habits can be as simple as how we order our meals, how often we exercise or even what we say to our children each night. It is essential to understand how our brain stores different functions, how habits emerge and how the Habit Loop works within our brain.…
Phil Jackson "One thing I’ve learned as a coach is that you can’t force your will on people. If you want them act differently, you need to inspire them to change themselves." And that is exactly what Phil Jackson did during his 21 year coaching career. Phil Jackson was abnormal compared to your run of the mill coach. He opened his players minds to a new approach of the game of basketball.…

The book that made a lasting impression on me and shaped the person who I am today is “Quiet Strength” by Tony Dungy. I have read this book multiple times throughout my life, the first time being when I was 13 and my mother suggested I read the book as I was selected captain of my middle school basketball team. Every time I read this book, I take a new perspective on life and take away a new quote that I try to apply to my life. One quote that stuck with me from my most recent read through, which occurred in fall of 2015, is: “It’s about the journey — mine and yours — and the lives we can touch, the legacy we can leave, and the world we can change for the better.” As a growing student leader, this statement was so powerful.…
In order to help my roommate lose enough weight to make the football team, there are several steps of operant conditioning that must be followed. First, I must devise a behavior modification plan for my roommate that will motivate him to want to keep progressing toward his goal. In order to make sure that this plan is effective in continuous and steady weight loss, I will use operant conditioning and the schedules of reinforcement to motivate him. I will need to measure his progress or weight loss through exercise. Through behavior modification, positive reinforcement and schedules of reinforcement, I will be able to help my roommate meet his ideal weight goal in order to make the football team.…
3 strategies to coach character 1. Stay Calm. To many times today people fly off the handle before thinking about their actions. I think a coach who is calm and steadfast during the game or practice is teaching character. Games are not going to go the way you want them too.…
Everyone has experienced classical conditioning and may not even know it. A common example is food: you ate something that made you sick and now you never eat it; you’re conditioned against the food because you had a bad reaction. In the most simple terms, classical conditioning or Pavlovian conditioning is learning a new behavior with different stimuli that create a reaction that can be repeated numerously through a recurring experiment. This kind of conditioning is seen in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, and goes along with the theme, psychological conditioning is potentially dangerous, which I agree with.…

Next, the 4th habit is think win-win. You should search for the best alternative so everyone can benefit and be happy. If you lose do not think lose-lose and bring someone down with you. You also never want to have a win-lose attitude where you win and someone else suffers. Never think lose-win either, do not take the losses so other people can be happy.…

I have a habit of wasting time watching videos when homework is supposed to be my priority. It happens when I’m home by myself, and I get bored. When I’m bored, I tend to think about what kind of food there is in the kitchen, and then I find myself in there looking for something to eat. When I find something to cook, I bring my laptop or iPad so I can listen to music while I make my food. Then I eat and watch videos.…
