A Critical Summary of "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance " by Taron Williams

Introduction For any organization to grow and prosper it must have good leadership in place; a good leader is always able to accomplish goals by influencing their subordinates to buy into their vision and help them reach their overall goal. The type of leadership that is implemented in an organization will affect how well a company maximizes efficiency and accomplishes goal. The book Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance by Former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy is composed of a series of reflections and life experiences, which he hopes will help guide others, especially young men to a life of significance. In the book written with the help of Nathan Whitaker, Dungy talks about his belief that having certain character traits is the main ingredient to helping people achieve meaning in their lives and careers.

The way the book is written makes the reader feel as if they know the Mr. Dungy personally. Moreover, in my opinion this book teaches the reader a lot about social judgment skills, which teaches leaders and people to understand different people and society as a whole. The only weakness that I see is that this book only focuses on providing guidance to young men, when I feel that everyone who reads this book can benefit. If I take one important thing away from this book it is that people must learn to be adaptable in life; they must be able to adapt to working with different people, working in different environments, working with different ideas from their own, and most importantly working with different challenges in
