Tony Danza’s biggest struggle was he rambled a lot and he was not confident about his teaching ability. “In my nervousness, I default to monologue (12)”. There was no need for Tony Danza to talk on and on when he was with the football team. His speech should have been 5 minutes at the most not thirty. Another struggle of his was when the students did an assignment and no one wanted to read it out loud. He started reading the students’ work himself. “All right. Who would like to read their story? … Emmanuel? But he shakes his head. … How about if I read it? (41)”. It would have been alright if he only read that one, but he continues reading the students work. “Before long I’ve read out five of their stories (41)”.In the end, he overcame this. He talked less and let the students talk more. At the end, Tony Danza got better at not droning on about nothingness. He was more focused on getting the kids involved.

An example of one of his visual lessons was when he played the movie Of Mice and Men. He did other visuals. “I devote the entire class to my own special edition of Pictionary. Competing in teams, the kids have to draw scenes from everything we’ve read the beginning of school (81)”. He used kinesthetic when he did the scavenger hunt. Tony Danza also used interpersonal and intrapersonal teaching styles. Interpersonal skills were done when he had the class present assignments to the class. Intrapersonal skills were occurring when the students did individual work. One interpersonal he gives is the poetry contest. “My bright method to engage the students in poetry is to throw a contest patterned after American Idol (148)”.
