Tongue In Lord Of The Flies

Improved Essays
This section can be summed up in three words: Watch your tongue! We are more likely to sin with our mouth than any other way. A man who guards his mouth, guards his whole person. James calls the tongue, “a fire”; something that defiles the whole body; a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With our tongue we confess Christ as our Lord and Savior and with our tongue we curse Him. Lest we be double-minded, our tongue should be a consistent testimony of our redeemed nature. Verse 5 speaks of boasting. If we could compare the number of times the bible speaks of the boasting of The Antichrist with the number of times Donald Trump boasts in any given day, who wins?

James says they will war with each other because they war within themselves. They covet what they do not have because they are envious; leading to conflict that starts with quarrels and ending with violence and even murder. We live in a world of entitlement. “What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine.” We lust for the things of the world, whether they be material possessions or status. If the Jones’ have it, we want it. In fact, we do not just want it, we want them not to have it. We want their possessions. This lust is nothing more than envy that stems from our self-pride. God calls this worldliness …show more content…
Donald Trump has a history of this very thing; having been the target of numerous lawsuits involving people who have not been paid for work done. As The Antichrist, Trump, as well as the aristocratic elites in the last days, will refuse to pay the workers whom have worked a full day — another example of an opposite quality of Jesus Christ. This evil will testify against Trump and others, as the outcry of cheated workers reach the Lord of the Sabaoth. In contradistinction, Jesus, as the land owner, paid a full day’s wage to those workers who only worked a part day (Matt. 20:1-16). The Lord of the Sabaoth is He that established six days to work and one day to rest. The Sabaoth rest harkens back to God’s 7th creation day of rest and forward to that Millennial Day of rest — the 1000-year reign of Christ that will begin after Christ returns to set up His kingdom on

The first symbolic object that is presented in the novel in a specific setting is the long scar that is imprinted in the jungle. The scar is the spot where the plane crashed. Piggy, the protagonist, recalls seeing one of the wings on fire. None of the adults survived the crash. The author describes the scar in the jungle by telling the reader that, "Beyond the falls and cliffs there was a gash visible in the trees; there were splintered trunks and then the drag, leaving only a fringe of palm between the scar and the sea" (Golding 29).…

The most shocking thing is the public’s reaction to Trump’s unethical behavior. Most people do not seem to care and his supporters seem to rather enjoy it. We have now entered the end of the postmodern age where truth is replaced with emotion. If something so small as a criticism of one’s hands or fingers can send Trump into a never-ending obsessive tirade, what would happen if genuine Christians throughout the world went on a relentless campaign targeting Donald Trump as Satan incarnate?…

How Misinterpretation of the Bible Helped the Justification of the Crusades. The Crusades were a series of expeditions undertaken by Christian holy men in the hopes of delivering holy places from Islamic tyranny (Douglas J. Potter). The popes felt that Europe should be under Christian unity, and the pressure that they felt from the Byzantine Empire threatened said unity, so they decided to send troops of men to free the land of the Byzantine Empire once again for the Christians. One would think that for a religion that is supposed to promote the teachings of Jesus, who said “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (Matthew…

The Lord of the Flies Opinion Essay The copper face glimmered with a thin layer of soil, sweat, his bronze skin turned to a scarlet and his rough voice bellowed with rage as he swore to hunt the animals of the island, illustrated the carefree environment, he would have, and hypnotized the listeners with his audacity as he persuaded them that he would slay their beast. A good leader must have something to enchant his followers, and Jack had his persuasion in killing the beast. I agree with the statement, “A good leader must have charisma,” because in the Lord of the Flies Jack earned the respect of the boys’ and became their leader by convincing them that he would provide meat, fun, and safety from killing the beast. Jack gained admiration from the boys’ and took Ralph's place when he coaxed them that he would provide meat with the help of his hunters.…
