Stanza 2 says, “And sat upright…. Arose the howl… The mouse let fall, The worms drew back…” This shows how the tone of stanza 2 is awakened. In this stanza everything is changing, people are waking up and all of the animals are hiding and howling. Everything is changing its behavior because of something that has just started or awakened. “Ha, ha. It will be warmer when I blow the trumpet (if indeed I ever do...),” is a quote from the first line of stanza 6. This shows that whoever is saying this is feeling power. There are many ways to see this. The first one is that he may blow a trumpet. Blowing a trumpet in war means that you are starting an attack which is the job of a leader, it is basically another form of yelling, “Attack!” Another point of power is the fact that he said, “Ha, ha.” This is laugh to show that he is happy or knows he will be soon because of the power he has. He also has a very confident tone which can be taken as powerful because this is a quote of this person saying a speech in front of a group of
